Cappadocia is a region, not a single town, and your choice of base shapes your whole trip. The four most popular options for balloon guests are Göreme, Ürgüp, Uçhisar and Ortahisar — all within our pick-up zone for sunrise flights.

Göreme — Best for Balloon Views

Göreme sits in the heart of the balloon launch zone, so its cave hotels and rooftop terraces offer the closest, most dramatic sunrise balloon views without even leaving your room. It is the most central and convenient base for first-time visitors, with easy access to the Open Air Museum and the main valleys.

Ürgüp — Best for Couples and Comfort

Just a short drive away, Ürgüp is more refined and relaxed, with beautiful boutique cave hotels, excellent restaurants and a wine-country atmosphere. It is our home town — Güvercin Balloons is based in Ürgüp — and a lovely, slightly quieter alternative to Göreme for couples and honeymooners.
