Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before, during and after your balloon flight.

Booking & Cancellation

You can book online via our Booking page, or contact us directly via WhatsApp or email. We'll confirm your booking within 1–2 hours.

We recommend 3–5 days in advance for standard flights and 7+ days for experience packages. During peak season (April–October), earlier is better.

Free cancellation up to 48 hours before your flight (72 hours for private packages). Cancellations due to weather are always fully refunded or rescheduled.

We accept all major credit and debit cards, bank transfer and cash. A deposit is required at booking; the balance is collected on the morning of your flight.

The Flight Experience

The flight itself lasts approximately 1–1.5 hours. Including hotel pick-up, inflation, the ceremony and return transfer, the full experience is around 3.5–4 hours.

Typically 300–1,000 metres above ground depending on wind conditions and what the pilot wants to show you. Some flights skim the valley floors at tree-top height.

It can be 5–10°C cooler at altitude than on the ground. We recommend wearing layers. The burner above provides warmth — most guests find it comfortable.

Yes! Cameras, smartphones and small action cameras are welcome. Use a wrist strap for safety. Selfie sticks and monopods are not permitted inside the basket.

After landing, your pilot performs the traditional balloon pilot's prayer, guests receive a champagne or juice toast, and everyone receives their personalised flight certificate.

Weather & Conditions

We will always offer a full reschedule to any available date during your stay, or a 100% refund. Weather cancellations are never penalised.

The go/no-go decision is made at approximately 04:00 on the morning of your flight. You will be contacted by SMS or WhatsApp immediately.

April–October offers the most reliable flying conditions. Spring and autumn have the most stable winds. Flights operate year-round, including winter when conditions permit.

Safety

Yes. All Güvercin Balloons pilots hold SHGM (Turkish Civil Aviation Authority) balloon pilot licences with a minimum of 500 verified flight hours.

Minimum age is 6 years. There is no strict weight limit but please notify us if any guest weighs over 120 kg so we can ensure the safest basket arrangement.

Hot air ballooning is one of the safest forms of aviation. Our rigorous safety procedures, experienced pilots and conservative weather policy ensure every flight is as safe as possible.
